My Little Autumn Daydream

I live in a country where summer seems to last forever. Here in the Philippines, we don't really get to experience the kind of autumn you see in photographs. No crisp fall mornings, no streets covered in golden leaves, no trees slowly changing colors from green to shades of amber, rust, and brown. Just sunshine, humidity, and the familiar warmth of a tropical country.

Instead of just admiring autumn through other people's photographs, I decided to create my own little autumn moment. I took photos of things that reminded me of the season... cinnamon rolls, warm earthy tones, and little details that made an ordinary day feel a bit more like fall. I even gathered some dried and yellow leaves, arranging them here and there to bring a touch of autumn into my surroundings. A little styling, a little creativity, and a whole lot of imagination. It wasn't the real autumn experience, of course, but I loved how these simple things could transform an ordinary tropical day into something that felt straight out of an autumn postcard. Sometimes, you don't need the actual season to enjoy its beauty. You just need a little imagination and the willingness to romanticize the moment.

It's funny how you can romanticize something you've only known through photographs.

I know that tomorrow will probably be another warm, sunny day in this tropical country. But for a little while, I get to pretend that autumn has found its way into my little corner of the world.

Perhaps that's the beauty of romanticizing life. You don't always have to travel somewhere or wait for a particular season to enjoy the feeling you've been dreaming about. Sometimes, all it takes is noticing the little things, creating a moment, and allowing yourself to enjoy it. I may live where it's summer almost all year round, but somewhere in my imagination, there's always a little autumn waiting for me.

And this, I suppose, is my little autumn daydream. 🍂
