Stepping Into the Woods as Little Red Riding Hood

There’s something truly enchanting about Halloween — that one night when imagination takes the lead and you get to become whoever you want to be. For me, it’s not just about costumes or makeup; it’s about storytelling through character, emotion, and a touch of fantasy. This year, I wanted something softer yet equally striking. That’s when I found myself drawn to the story of Little Red Riding Hood.

But this isn’t the innocent fairytale we all grew up with. This version of Red walks through the woods with confidence, not fear. She doesn’t wait to be saved, she writes her own ending. I wanted to capture that transformation: the blend of innocence and strength, mystery and allure, vulnerability and control. The red cloak became more than just a costume; it became a symbol of courage, of stepping boldly into the unknown while staying true to yourself.

As the camera clicked and the shadows of the woods wrapped around me, I felt like I was living inside a modern fairytale, one where beauty meets boldness and softness meets power. Stepping into the woods as Little Red Riding Hood reminded me that we all have a story to tell, and sometimes, the best way to tell it is by daring to become the version of ourselves we once only imagined.
