PERSONAL | Dance With My Father

I'M NOT A FAN of the song "Dance with my father" by Luther Vandross, I really didn't appreciate it but when Jessica Sanchez made a rendition of this on American Idol, she sang it perfectly.

About 3 days ago, my father suddenly became unconscious. At first, my mom thought that he was just sleeping but he didn't even move until late afternoon, so they took him to the hospital but the doctor said that he was in a bad condition and need some special treatments.

"He's in coma, we didn't know when he'll wake up. He probably even wont," when the doctor said that I burst out crying and my heart is broken, though I don't even know if I believe, sometimes doctors can be very insensitive and just stupid with their choice of words. I didn't lose hope because my family needs me. I need to fight! I was just a kid myself but I'm the oldest out of my two brothers so I have to be brave. I don't want them to see me cry, especially my mom - instead I clear their minds and give them enough strength to face this trial.

I have a strong faith in God, I know God will allow our father to stay with us. Time after time, I just keep on praying and just now my father condition is improving, he can now feel pain, open his eyes up and down on difficulty. Sometimes he can move his head left or right. Now I'm praying for his complete healing - and if he's fully healed, I'll play the song "Dance with my Father" and I'll ask him to dance with me.

  7. Doctors can be assholes sometimes. I bow to your strength and your positive thinking. This is exactly how people should react to such situations. Always look forward and be positive and have strength to face everything that's in your path. You're a super girl! I hope with all my heart that your father will get better! Lots of hugs from me!
